Sudan’s Prime Minister Kamil Idris said his country is seeking a “realistic exit from war” as he spoke to reporters at United Nations headquarters in New York ahead of a UN Security Council meeting on Sudan.<br /><br />Idris thanked U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for helping advance the peace process, saying Sudan faces a choice between continued conflict or a future built on hope, peace, and justice.<br /><br />The Security Council meeting is expected to focus on the conflict’s trajectory, humanitarian needs, and regional implications.
